How it started
Lydia and Buzzy met on the dating app Hinge in June of 2023 when Lydia was in New York City for her summer associate internship and Buzzy was studying for the bar. They went on their first date at Cafe D’Alsace and both ordered the chicken with no appetizers, sides or drinks.

After a few more dates, Lydia and Buzzy went to church together for the first time at Central Presbyterian Church on the Upper East Side and decided to officially date that afternoon of July 2nd. After only one month of dating, Lydia signed up for a trip to Bordeaux with Buzzy and his family in August 2023 (following strong encouragement from her sister Abby)!

Over the next year, Buzzy and Lydia travelled between Amsterdam, New York City, and Ithaca to see each other. Their visits mainly consisted of trying new restaurants, going for runs, and playing many games of backgammon.

On August 26th, 2024, Buzzy proposed to Lydia on the beach on Kiawah Island in South Carolina. And she said yes!
