How it started
Lydia and Buzzy met on Hinge in June 2023 when Lydia was in New York City for her summer associate internship and Buzzy was studying for the bar. Their first date was at Café D’Alsace, where they both ordered the chicken—no appetizers, no sides, no drinks.

A few dates later, they went to church together for the first time at Central Presbyterian Church on the Upper East Side. That afternoon, on July 2nd, they decided to make it official. Just one month later, with strong encouragement from her sister Abby, Lydia signed up for a trip to Bordeaux with Buzzy and his family.
Over the next year, Lydia and Buzzy navigated long-distance between Amsterdam, New York City, and Ithaca. Their visits were filled with trying new restaurants, going for runs, and playing countless games of backgammon.

On August 26, 2024, Buzzy proposed to Lydia on the beach at Kiawah Island, South Carolina—and she said yes!
